Technical Coach - Alpine
Brief info

Ida Candert is a former ski racer from Sweden (Swedish #1 in GS, #6 in SL first year FIS, punching results in the 30’s as a first year athlete (this is fassst); unfortunately her career ended early due to a severe concussion. We are stoked to have Ida on board to work with our u16 & FIS athletes.

  • Home mountain : Åre, Sweden
  • Coaching Philosophy : I think that if you want to make a difference in your skiing technique, you have to make it through free skiing first. The basics are really important to be able to become a really good skier. It’s also important that as a coach make every athlete feel seen and believed in, and that everyone evolves from their own ability.
  • Favourite sport (outside of skiing): Football (soccer)
  • Favourite food: Moules frites
  • Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten: Fermented herring
  • Worst ski crash: In Pitztal, crashing out on the glacier, getting all bruised and a really bad concussion.
  • 5 things that are always in your fridge: Milk, rice porridge, eggs, banana, homemade juice
  • What’s the one that you couldn’t live without : My Bose headphones
  • Who would you invite to a dinner party : Dua Lipa
  • Favourite ski area : Zermatt, Switzerland
  • Stand out ski memory: Youth nationals in Idre 2015, Sweden
  • Why did you choose to be a ski coach: I love skiing and since I couldn’t carry on ski racing myself (due to concussions) I wanted to help others reach their goals and become as good as they can.
