Brief info
James has long been an advocate for growing participation in snowsports, having previously served on other Australian snowsports club committees as well as helping grow Snow Australia international pathway programs. James is also working through completion of his FIS Technical Delegate (TD) qualification for Snowboard and Ski Cross as well as Park and Pipe.
James’ family, Nikkie, Angus and Jack are all passionate snowboarders who for several years now have been following winter full time in Australia between Mt Buller and Mt Hotham as well as overseas in Utah, Colorado, California and across Europe. Angus, his eldest son has been pursuing his international Snowboard Cross aspirations following the Europa Cup (EC) circuit for the last two years, whilst his youngest son, Jack has been competing in the United States on the USASA circuit in Snowboard Cross as well.
James is invested in helping grow participation in snowsports through making suitable international pathway programs available to domestic athletes of all athletes and also building partnerships with international programs and coaches. James is also focused on how to create greater opportunities during the domestic season for competition and training, especially in consideration of the variable snow conditions we experience in Australia. James was elected to the Team Hotham Committee in 2024
